Overview
Same job as the V1 shoe, different profile. This is the V2 dovetail, for the ARGUS housings named in the fit list, and like the V1 it is the load-bearing link between the housing and the helmet mount. The one thing to get right before you order is which profile your goggle is actually wearing: the shoe, screw and pins supplied here are a V2 set and do not swap with the V1 set. If you are not sure, take the goggle off the mount and compare it against the fit list below rather than judging by eye.
Key Features
1) V2 dovetail profile, for the ARGUS housings named in the fit list;
2) Not interchangeable with the V1 shoe - profile and hardware both differ, so match the shoe to your goggle;
3) Comes with its own mounting screw and locating pins, matched to this profile;
4) Replaces a worn shoe on a goggle that has developed play in the mount;
5) Bench swap; check the goggle for play in the mount before the helmet goes back on;
What's in the Box
One dovetail shoe
One mounting screw
Two locating pins
How to Operate
1) Take the goggle off the helmet mount and rest it face down on a clean surface;
2) Back the screw out of the old shoe and lift the shoe and pins clear;
3) Set the new locating pins into the housing, then seat the new shoe over them;
4) Fit the new screw and run it down until it is firm - snug, not forced;
5) Slide the goggle into the mount and rock it by hand to confirm there is no play;
Compatibility
ARGUS BNVD-31, BNVD-1431 MK2 and BNVD-931 binocular housings, on helmet mounts taking the V2 dovetail profile.
Why the ARGUS Part
Buying against the fit list is the whole trick here. The profile is not something to judge by eye off a photograph, and the V1 and V2 sets are not interchangeable, so match the shoe to the housing you actually have - if you are not sure which one your goggle is wearing, take it off the mount and compare against the fit list before you order.
Label the spares by profile when they go in the bin - the two look close on a shelf.
