Overview
In stock. The JERRY-C5 is a clip-on thermal imager that mounts in front of a PVS-14 style monocular or a BNVD-1431 MK2 or PVS-31 style binocular and lays a thermal image over the night vision picture. Image intensification gives you resolution and depth; thermal tells you what is warm. Run the two together and a person or animal standing in a hedge line or against a tree line separates out from the background instead of blending into it, while you keep the detail and depth perception you actually move on. How much thermal sits over the picture is yours to set, from an outline around the heat source to a full thermal image. Take it off the mount and it works on its own as a compact thermal monocular. The C5 carries its own cell so it runs with nothing else attached, and it also takes external power when you want longer run time from a helmet battery pack.
Key Features
1) Clips in front of a PVS-14 style monocular or a BNVD-1431 MK2 / PVS-31 style binocular on a standard dovetail adapter or bridge mount;
2) Overlays thermal on the intensified image so heat sources break out of hedges and tree lines without costing you night vision resolution or depth;
3) Three image modes and three palettes, so the amount of thermal mixed into the picture matches the ground you are on;
4) On-board cell for standalone running, plus an external power port for a helmet battery pack on long jobs;
5) Comes off the mount and works on its own as a compact thermal monocular;
What's in the Box
One JERRY-C5 clip-on thermal imager
How to Operate
1) Fit the dovetail adapter or bridge that matches your night vision unit;
2) Slide the C5 onto the mount in front of the objective and lock it so it sits square to the unit;
3) Run it on its own cell, or connect a helmet battery pack when you want longer duration;
4) Look through the night vision unit and confirm the thermal overlay lands on the heat source rather than beside it; correct the seating on the mount if it does not;
5) Set the image mode and palette to suit the ground you are working;
